Wednesday Value Plays

Point Guard

Mike Conley, $6,000: Conley isn't exactly cheap at this price, but after dealing with some nagging injuries in the middle of March, he's still too undervalued. Conley has consistently seen minutes in the mid-30s as of late and has posted at least 25 fantasy points in each of his five games. The Grizzlies are still playing for playoff positioning, as it's mathematically possible they lose home-court advantage for the first round if they lose out, so expect all of their starters to be a go.

Shane Larkin, $4,900: One of the few bright spots for the Knicks over the last month has been Larkin, a young player who has adjusted well to starting and logging heavy minutes. He's played over 36 minutes in four of his last five contests, and with the Knicks rebuilding, he won't get benched when New York is getting blown out. He's been able to surpass 20 fantasy points in each of those last five games and exploded for a 40.7 fantasy point performance against the 76ers on Sunday.

Shooting Guard

O.J. Mayo, $4,600: Mayo appears to be back to full health, and while his price has gone down over the last two weeks, his minutes and fantasy value have gone up. He's back to playing around 30 minutes per game and has averaged 28.3 fantasy points over his last three games. The home matchup against Cleveland should have a healthy point total, and Mayo could be in for a big night if his three-point shot is falling.

Jabari Brown, $3,500: Brown is a curious pick here considering he has scored less than 11 fantasy points in three of his last seven games. However, in those other four games, he's averaging 22.2 fantasy points and checks in at the minimum price on FanDuel. This game against the Nuggets should be an up-tempo affair, and Brown has gotten 30-plus minutes of playing time in each of his last five games. That trend should continue Wednesday with the Lakers trying to evaluate whether he deserves a roster spot next season.

Small Forward

P.J. Tucker, $5,300: Tucker has been a favorite play of mine this season given his ability to stay under the radar and not need to score a ton of points to be a fantasy asset. He hasn't scored fewer than 15.2 fantasy points in any of his last 10 games and has averaged 25 fantasy points over his last four games. He should once again see minutes in the mid-30s and will get a matchup against Chandler Parsons (knee) who is less than 100 percent or Richard Jefferson (toe) who is in the twilight of his career. The upside is limited here, but he's a very steady option for cash games.

Rodney Hood, $4,200: Hood missed some time last week dealing with an illness but has returned and keeps improving his professional game. Over his last two games since missing a game against the Nuggets, he's scored 25 and 17 points, parlaying those numbers into fantasy games of 39.6 and 28 fantasy points. The matchup against the Kings is good, although with the injuries to Sacramento the blowout factor could be in play. Still, he's too cheap for a player more than capable of dropping 15-20 points.

Power Forward

Mike Muscala, $3,900: With Paul Millsap already ruled out for Wednesday, it will likely be Muscala entering the starting five as he did Tuesday night. Muscala had a monster game 10 days ago, putting up a 40 fantasy point effort in a starting role against the Bobcats. A few games ago, he got 24 minutes against Detroit and finished with 20.1 fantasy points. Those two games show what type of production he can have if the minutes are there, and he only needs around 18 fantasy points to be a good value against Thaddeus Young and the Nets.

Tyler Hansbrough, $3,500:Amir Johnson appears headed toward sitting another game out with an ankle injury, and surprisingly, when this Johnson went down the injury Saturday, it was "Psycho T" and not Patrick Patterson who got the fantasy boost. Hansbrough finished Saturday's contest with 18 points, eight rebounds, two blocks and a steal, good for 32.6 fantasy points. Doing some quick math, that's over 9x the value with his salary at the minimum price. As long as Johnson sits again, fire up the ex-Tar Heel.

Center

Bismack Biyombo, $4,100:Al Jefferson has already been ruled out for Wednesday's game, meaning Biyombo will draw another start. "Big Smack" has been extremely steady with "Big Al" out of the lineup, and Biyombo entered Tuesday night with games of 24.8, 24.8 and 26.5 fantasy points over his last three. He's always a threat to flirt with a double-double with Jefferson out, and heading into Tuesday, he had at least two blocks in six straight games. The matchup with Toronto isn't overly daunting, and he should have no problem making value at this price.
