FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Sunday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

There are four contests on tap Sunday, and there are some really good matchups today. As you'll note below, the Mavericks vs. Rockets and Celtics vs. 76ers games both have a lot of value plays. With all of the value plays on the schedule, there should be opportunities to fit in some premium players without having to scrape the bottom-of-the-barrel at any position. Look for big numbers to go up Sunday.

Point Guard

Deron Williams, DAL at HOU ($6,200): Five point guards playing Sunday average in the mid-30s or higher of fantasy points, but all are more than $7,000. Williams' season average is in the 20s, but he has been in the 30s in four of his last six games. Williams matches up with a Rockets defense that struggles defending opposing point guards, that will be without its defensive anchor Dwight Howard and has its best defensive guard, Patrick Beverley, listed as questionable.

Shooting Guard

Avery Bradley, BOS at PHI ($5,600): Bradley has played well lately, averaging about 30 fantasy points in his last five outings, which is solid for his price. He faces a 76ers squad that often plays two point guards, which should give Bradley the chance to make an impact with his on-ball defense and also gives him a size advantage as a scorer at the other end.

Small Forward

Chandler Parsons, DAL at HOU ($6,000): Parsons is a formerly borderline-elite fantasy option who has been limited all season as he recovered from offseason surgery. But he has been steadily ramping his game up the last few weeks, and in his last two outings he has exploded with averages of 28 points, 6.5 boards and 2.5 assists. He faces a Rockets defense that is last in the NBA at limiting production to small forwards.

Power Forward

Josh Smith ($3,900), Clint Capela ($4,900) and/or Terrence Jones ($4700), HOU vs. DAL: There is a LOT of value at power forward Sunday. The Rockets have three low-priced players who have 30-fantasy-point potential for less than $5,000 each. With Dwight Howard and Donatas Motiejunas both expected to miss Sunday's game, there should be enough minutes for some subset of this group, perhaps all of them, to post good numbers against a Mavericks squad that could be playing without both Dirk Nowitzki (knee) and Zaza Pachulia (leg).

Nerlens Noel ($6,400) and/or Jerami Grant ($4,200), PHI vs. BOS:
If you are looking for power forward value and don't want to overload on Rockets, the 76ers also have some great potential. In Noel's last three games, he had more than 75 fantasy points in two games and had more than 18 fantasy points at the half of his most recent game before leaving with a headache. So he's playing at a high level. Meanwhile, Grant bounced back from injury with a 34.7 fantasy points effort in his last outing against the Magic. They face an undersized Celtics defense that is 27th in the NBA in limiting production to opposing power forwards.

Center

Enes Kanter, OKC at BKN ($4,700): Kanter should start Sunday with Steven Adams out injured. Kanter has a tendency to blow up the boxscore when he gets starters minutes, and he'll face Brook Lopez. Lopez isn't mobile enough to slow Kanter down from the perimeter, so he should be comfortable to put up a nice offensive game.
