FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Tuesday's overflowing 11-game slate offers plenty of value, as late-season injuries and personnel changes are providing opportunities for a number of players whose sudden boost in production isn't yet matched by their price. With the likes of Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant in action Tuesday, here's a look at some value plays priced no higher than $5,300 that will offer you the room to roster some of the elite.

Point Guards
Tim Frazier, NO at PHI ($5,000)
- Frazier has been offering solid-to-outstanding return on his very reasonable price, and seems to be increasingly thriving with every passing game. He topped out at 46.9 fantasy points over 37 minutes versus the Nets on Sunday, posting his first career double-double with 19 points and 13 assists. He also scored between 17.2 and 33.1 fantasy points in the nine games prior, including three games with over 20 fantasy points, and another trio where he eclipsed 30. Given the injury-depleted state of the Pelicans backcourt, he should continue receiving plenty of run in the season's remaining games. His ability to play either guard spot will also allow him to take aim at a Sixers backcourt defense that's been vulnerable against both positions this season.

Tyler Ennis, MIL vs. CLE ($3,900)- The Bucks' point guard depth chart has been depleted due to season-ending injuries to Michael Carter-Williams (hip) and O.J. Mayo (ankle), as well as Jerryd Bayless' current knee ailment. Although Rashad Vaughn is drawings starts ahead of him during Bayless' absence, Ennis has outpaced the rookie in minutes the last two games. He's also scored between 20.9 and 31.8 fantasy points in three of his last four, while offering multi-category production. With Bayless listed as doubtful for Tuesday's tilt with the Cavs, Ennis should be in for another dose of solid playing time.

Shooting Guards
Seth Curry, SAC vs. POR ($4,000)
- Curry has finally been given some extended run in the latter stages of the season due to a series of injuries in the Kings' backcourt, and has largely responded. He's scored between 19.3 and 30.9 fantasy points in five of his last six, while scoring in double figures and draining multiple threes in all of those games. He's displayed a great touch from all over the court, and should find himself in the midst of a fast-paced contest against a Blazers squad that's given up 2.3 three-pointers per game to opposing two-guards, which ties them with several other teams for fourth-most surrendered to the position. Marco Belinelli (foot) is also likely to miss another game for Sacramento, which should open up the minutes for Curry.

Norman Powell, TOR vs. CHA ($4,200)- Powell has been getting it done whether it's been at shooting guard or small forward, yet continues to be priced very reasonably relative to production. He scored 22.6 fantasy points on Saturday at two-guard in place of the resting DeMar DeRozan against a lockdown Spurs defense, and scored between 20.3 and 28.3 fantasy points in the five games prior while starting at small forward, draining multiple three-pointers in all of those contests. He should be back at the three Tuesday, and will draw a Hornets defense that's surrendered the tenth-most fantasy points to small forwards over the last 10 games (41.0), along with the sixth-most points (19.5) and most three-pointers (2.6) per game to the position on the season.

Small Forwards
Luke Babbitt, NOP at PHI ($5,000)
- Much like his teammate Tim Frazier, Babbitt has seized the opportunity afforded by multiple injuries at his position to generate some excellent production. He's scored 41.5 and 30.2 fantasy points, respectively, over the last two games, while also tallying totals of 21.6, 29.3, 26.3 and 23.8 fantasy points in four other games over the last 10. He'll be starting at the three again Tuesday, and will face off against a Sixers defense surrendering the third-most fantasy points (38.2), most points (21.1), second-most rebounds (7.7), third-most three-pointers (2.4) and third-highest field-goal percentage (45.7) per game to opposing small forwards this season.

James Ennis, NO at PHI ($3,900)- Ennis is yet another Pelican who has used the team's MASH unit-status to demonstrate his wares. After receiving minimal playing time in his stints with the Grizzlies and Heat earlier in the season, Ennis has received between 24 and 30 minutes in the last three games, and has scored between 21.7 and 30.6 fantasy points over that span. He does a little bit of everything, and will have a chance to capitalize against the same Sixers small forward defense that Luke Babbitt should thrive against. Despite the fact that he plays the same position as Babbitt, they've both enjoyed successful games while sharing minutes, and the quality of the Sixers defense is such that a repeat of that is very likely Tuesday.

Power Forwards
Carl Landry, PHI vs. NO ($5,100)
- Nerlens Noel (knee) got back into practice Monday, but coach Brett Brown has already speculated that he's unlikely to take the court. If that holds true, Landry will take aim at a Pelicans defense that has surrendered the second-most fantasy points (49.7), third-most points (21.7), fourth-most assists (3.1), second-most blocks (2.8) and fifth-highest field-goal percentage (54.7) per game to opposing centers. The veteran big man has also scored 36.1, 31.6 and 26.2 fantasy points, respectively, in three of his last four games, and 25.9 and 35.6 in two others over the last 10. In a game that features two questionable defenses, Landry should receive plenty of run and scoring opportunity.

Patrick Patterson TOR vs. CHA ($4,000)- Patterson has quietly provided solid production at near-minimum price in recent games, posting fantasy point totals of 25.5, 23.1, 22.9 and 24.9 fantasy points in four of the last five contests. He's encouragingly received between 20 and 34 minutes over the last six as well, even though starter Luis Scola played in all but two of those games. Patterson appears locked in for consistent playing time at the moment, and will draw a favorable matchup versus a Hornets defense that's giving up the third-most fantasy points (48.3) to power forwards over the last five games, as well as the fifth-most over the last 10 (46.3).

Center
Tyson Chandler PHO at ATL ($5,300)
- Chandler has turned back the clock over the last three scoring 34.1, 33, and 43.6 fantasy points, respectively, over that span. He's been dominant on the glass over those contests also, averaging 12 boards a game. His matchup against the Hawks is surprisingly favorable as well, despite their well-earned reputation for stingy defense. Atlanta has given up the fourth-most fantasy points (48.3) and fifth-most points (21.1) per game to centers, and particularly relevant with respect to Chandler's game, the second-most rebounds (16.3) per contest.
