The season is now in full swing, with most players having established their baselines and others already taking advantage of new opportunities to make early season runs. And with nine games on Friday's slate, there is a lot of really good value out there for us to explore.
GUARDS
DeMar DeRozan, MIA at TOR ($39): DeRozan has been on fire, scoring at least 32 points in all four games. He is coming off of 40-point, five-rebound, five-assist game against the Wizards, and his price hasn't caught up with his level of performance.
Derrick Rose, NYK at CHI ($25): Rose has scored between 28.0 and 28.8 fantasy points in three straight games, but on Friday he returns to Chicago for the first time as a Knick, and he has the motivation to put a big number on the board.
Guard to Avoid
Stephen Curry, GSW at LAL ($53): Curry has not been the primary performer for the Warriors this season, as Kevin Durant has been the alpha male in Golden State. Curry could explode at any time, but in five games this season he has done nothing to justify being the highest-priced guard in the league.
FORWARDS
Anthony Davis, NOP vs. PHO ($54): Davis has played five games this season, and in the two that were the second half of back-to-backs he averaged 14.0 points, six rebounds and one steal per outing. In the other three, he averaged 43.3 points, 15.7 boards and 3.3 steals. His game on Friday is not the second half of a back-to-back.
T.J. Warren, PHO at NOP ($19): Warren's price hasn't yet caught up with his production. Through five appearances, he is averaging 22.4 points, 6.2 boards and 1.8 steals per game. He also has a plus match-up against a non-intimidating Suns defense on Friday.
Forward to Avoid
LaMarcus Aldridge, SAS at UTA ($34): Aldridge has been ok, but not worth his price over the last week. He has averaged 16.3 points, 5.0 boards and less than one assists, steal or block per game over his last three, and he now faces a tough Jazz defensive frontline.
CENTERS
Dwight Howard, ATL at WAS ($31): Howard has been a monster in three of his four games, including a 19-rebound, 11-point, three-block performance when he faced the Wizards in the season opener.
Mason Plumlee, POR at DAL ($21): Plumlee has averaged 4.8 assists per gameover his last four, which adds to his nightly double-double potential to make him a potential impact center on any given night.
Center to Avoid
Pau Gasol, SA at UTA ($29): Gasol has only scored in double-digits once in five games, and his averages of 9.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game aren't enough to justify his price. Plus, he faces Rudy Gobert and the Jazz on Friday.
