FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

For this Saturday slate, we have a rare 11-game schedule and it should make for a fun DFS night. While there are some obvious plays like Anthony Davis vs. the Lakers and Kawhi Leonard vs. the Rockets, I hope that I can give you guys some nice values to get these studs into your lineup. That's why I'm going to focus on getting as many players under $8,000 into this article as possible. When it's all said and done, it seems likely that Davis and or Leonard will be in the perfect lineup at the end of the night, so finding the perfect combination of players to compliment those two can lead to a big cash.

GUARD

Premium

Eric Bledsoe, PHX vs. BRK ($7,700): Bledsoe is coming off his two best games of the season and he's starting to realize that he needs to take the reigns on this Phoenix offense. In those two games, Bledsoe has scored 80 combined fantasy points, while stuffing the stat sheet in both. That's what makes him so good, as he's one of few guards in the league who can provide solid rebounding and blocking numbers. The matchup is great too, considering he faces a Brooklyn team that ranks 22nd in fantasy points allowed to point guards this season.

Mid-Tier

Tim Frazier, NOP vs. LAL ($5,700): It's a wonder why this price is still so cheap, but he continues to be a great value in this injury-riddled rotation. With Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans out, Frazier has been taking all the point guard minutes and putting up huge numbers. While he's been boom or bust, he's still averaging 30 fantasy points a game. His upside is what's most intriguing though, as he has surpassed 33 fantasy points in five games and 40 fantasy points in three games so far this season. The matchup is the icing on the cake though, as the Lakers ranked dead-last in fantasy points allowed to point guards last season and in the bottom-10 this year.

Cheap

Sean Kilpatrick, BRK at PHX ($5,300): Kilpatrick is yet another guy thriving off other players injuries and he's quietly making a name for himself in this Brooklyn offense. Not only has he played 28 minutes or more in four-straight games, he's averaging 24 fantasy points a game this season. He's also shown the ability to drop 40-plus, as he did that against the Detroit Pistons just last week. The matchup is what makes this play so good though, as he faces a Phoenix defense that has allowed the second-most fantasy points to guards this season.

FORWARD

Premium

Paul Millsap, ATL vs. PHI ($7,800): Millsap is the most underrated player in the NBA in my opinion and he's a value play seemingly every night. With Jeff Teague and Al Horford out of town, Millsap is now the focal point of the Atlanta offense. That's evident by the fact that he's averaging a career-high 4.1 assists per game. When he's adding those assisting numbers with his elite defensive statistics, it's hard to deny how good this guy can be. That doesn't even factor in the double-double potential Millsap has as well, as he does that on a nightly basis. A matchup against Philadelphia is beautiful too, as they are easily one of the worst defenses in the NBA.

Mid-Tier

Derrick Favors, UTA at MIA ($5,900): Favors was in my Friday DraftKings article and he continues to be undervalued on these DFS sites. Many of the sites use an algorithm that base their prices off minutes and production, so a player like Favors is flying under the radar. The reason for that is the minutes cap he faced early in the season. That brought down his fantasy production and usage, thus lowering his price. Now that he's getting a full complement of minutes, he's becoming a hell of a value. In fact, Favors has scored at least 32 fantasy points in three-straight games and is averaging well over 30 minutes a game in that span. To put it simply, Favors is a $7,000 player and he's a must use until he approaches that number.

Cheap

Kent Bazemore, ATL vs. PHI ($4,600): Much like Millsap, Bazemore has taken much more responsibility on his shoulders with all the moves in Atlanta. The former Warriors has actually played at least 27 minutes in five of his last six games, with a few blowups in that span. In fact, he scored 35 fantasy points in two of those and is averaging 25 fantasy points a game over that six-game stretch. That's 6X value on his $4,600 price tag, which is impossible to pass up. In addition, he faces a Philly defense that has allowed the fifth-most fantasy points to small forwards this season.

CENTER

Premium

Andre Drummond, DET at DEN ($8,200): I know I'm breaking my $8,000 rule here, but Drummond has absolutely destroyed the Nuggets the last couple times he's faced them. In fact, Drummond had 19 points, 20 rebounds and three blocks earlier this season against Denver and tallied 15 points, 17 rebounds, five blocks and three steals in his final game against them last season. Those are silly numbers and it comes as no surprise with Denver's inability to deal with big men. While I don't expect him to reach those ridiculous numbers yet again, he should have no issue approaching a 20-20 line at an affordable $8,200.

Mid-Tier

Marc Gasol, MEM at MIL ($7,100): Gasol has been as reliable as any center this season and he's a great play on any given night. What I like here is the matchup, as Milwaukee has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to centers this season. Much of that is attributed to the fact that the Bucks struggle with rebounding, as they've allowed opposing centers to average 17 boards a game this season. If he can just grab double-digit boards with his ability to stuff the stat sheet, he could be in for a monster night with his ability to score, assist and provide defensive numbers.

Cheap

Joakim Noah, NYK at TOR ($4,300): Noah is one of the riskiest plays in this article, but he's one of the only centers in the league whose a legitimate triple-double threat. The former Bull plays a unique style of center, as he runs much of the offense through the top of the key. That gives him a ton of assisting opportunities, which is evident by the fact that he's averaging nearly five dimes a game. He adds that with his capability to provide rebounds as well, considering he leads the Knicks with nearly eight boards a game. When he adds scoring and defensive statistics, that's just an added bonus. The price is what's best about this play though, as his near-minimum price tag makes his floor extremely low. No one would be surprised to see him drop 30-plus fantasy points and that alone would be 7x value.
