FanDuel NBA: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

James Harden, HOU vs. WSH ($11,300): Harden has scored 90 and 66 fantasy points in his last two games, respectively. To say he's hot is a drastic understatement and it's simply impossible to avoid him no matter the price. The crazy thing is that his price didn't even increase since that career game, so he looks like quite the value. The matchup is solid too, as the Wizards rank 22nd in total defense.

Austin Rivers, LAC vs. PHX ($4,400): Rivers has had two poor games in a row, but he should be able to bounce back Monday. Prior to that two-game stretch, Rivers scored 57 fantasy points in the two previous games, while leading the team in shot attempts. With Chris Paul out of the lineup, Rivers will likely get another start against a Phoenix defense that ranks 29th in pace, 29th in total defense and 26th in fantasy points allowed to point guards.

Malcolm Brogdon, MIL vs. OKC ($4,300): The rookie is coming off his best game of his career and there's reason to believe he can keep performing. He had his first career triple-double (43 fantasy points) in his most recent game and that sort of upside out of a $4,300 player is very rare. In fact, he is averaging over 26 fantasy points per game over his last six. That sort of versatility makes him consistent as well, as he should be able to provide value whether he's shooting well or not. The matchup is great too, with Oklahoma City ranking 22nd in fantasy points allowed to point guards.

Gordon Hayward, UTA at BRK ($7,700): Hayward's numbers have been a little down recently, but now that George Hill is injured again, Hayward should return to primary ball-handling duties. The recent slide has lowered his price too, as 40 fantasy points would be plenty of value. The slump isn't even that bad, as he's scored at least 31 fantasy points in five straight games. Making it even better, the Nets ranks 30th in total defense and have allowed the second-most fantasy points per game to small forwards this season.

Trevor Ariza, HOU vs. WSH ($5,600): Ariza finally seems to be finding some of his old form, as he's scored at least 32 fantasy points in three of his last four games. What makes him so valuable is his role, as he regularly plays 35 minutes due to his elite defense and strong shooting. The price is affordable too, as his 32-fantasy-point floor would be 6x value on its own. The matchup is not scary either, with Washington ranking in the bottom 10 in numerous defensive categories.

Derrick Favors, UTA at BRK ($4,900): Favors is getting close to playing a full complement of minutes and he's starting to find his old form that made him a stud. When Favors is right, he's a $7,000 player, at least, and can dominate a game on any given night. He is getting close to playing 30 minutes per night after seeing his minutes increase in each of the lasts five games. This price is more indicative of a limited Favors and it's not taking into account his upside and breakout potential. The icing on the cake is the matchup, as the Nets are allowing the third-most fantasy points per game to power forwards this season.

DeAndre Jordan, LAC vs. PHX ($7,300): Jordan is averaging over 14 rebounds per game over his last 19. It's not just the rebounds though, as he's seen an increase in scoring, with more shots coming his way while Blake Griffin is sidelined. All that is great, but it doesn't even take into consideration the matchup, as the Suns rank second in pace and 29th total defense. The last time he faced Phoenix, Jordan had 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two blocks on the way to 40 fantasy points.

Montrezl Harrell, HOU vs. WSH ($4,600): Harrell is starting to establish himself as the go-to center in Houston and it's evident through his sparkling form. Over his last six games, he is averaging 16.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 blocks per game. That's nearly 30 fantasy points per game, which is outstanding value for a $4,600 player. The one concern with Harrell is the fact that he's undersized, but that shouldn't be an issue against a small Wizards frontcourt.

Joakim Noah, NYK vs. ORL ($4,500): Noah is coming off two of his best games of the season and it's easy to understand why. The Knicks have been bitten by the injury bug hard and it's opened the door for Noah to play monster minutes. He also has at least 16 rebounds in two of his last three games, while scoring at least 39 fantasy points in both those games. The matchup against Orlando appears tough on the surface, but the Knicks will need to lean on Noah against a team that plays three traditional bigs. That means 25 minutes is a near guarantee for Noah, and he should be able to flirt with a double-double in that span.
