Tuesday's compact three-game slate has one marquee player in James Harden ($62). Those that can afford him should plug him in and move on, but for those looking to allocate their money a bit differently, here's a look at some of the mid-range and value options available:
GUARDS
Nicolas Batum, CHA vs. BKN ($31): Batum is $8 cheaper than teammate Kemba Walker and has scored between 29.0 and 40.2 fantasy points in five of his last six games. He's also scored 43.5 and 43.3 fantasy points, respectively, in two previous encounters with the Nets this season. Brooklyn also surrenders the second-most fantasy points (42.07) to shooting guards, while also giving up the most second-most points (22.5) and rebounds (6.1) and the most steals (1.9) to the position.
Yogi Ferrell, DAL vs. POR ($14): Ferrell exploded for 44.4 fantasy points against this same Blazers squad Friday night, and he has also scored between 24.1 and 37.0 fantasy points in his three other games in Dallas while playing no less than 35 minutes. The Blazers have been vulnerable to two-guards all season, giving up 39.65 fantasy points per game to the position.
Guard to Avoid
Kemba Walker, CHA vs. BKN ($39): Walker has scored 28.9 and 13.9 fantasy points over his last two games, respectively, though he was admittedly under the weather in the latter contest. Those numbers leave him overpriced despite the appealing matchup against the Nets. Walker hasn't really capitalized against Brooklyn in two previous meetings this season either, scoring 29.1 and 26.8 fantasy points.
FORWARDS
Harrison Barnes, DAL vs. POR ($28): Barnes had scored between 26.1 and 47.0 fantasy points in six games before Monday's 19.8, and he had a healthy 24.6 percent usage rate over the five games that Deron Williams had missed. The Blazers have given up the seventh-most fantasy points (40.60) to small forwards, along with the eighth-most points (20.3), most rebounds (9.0) and fourth-highest field-goal percentage (46.5) to the position.
Bojan Bogdanovic, BKN at CHA ($13): Bogdanovic has scored between 20.9 and 27.5 fantasy points in four of the last six games, and he has posted double-digit scoring efforts in each game. The Hornets have given up the sixth-most points (20.8) and most assists (3.9) to small forwards as well, rendering the high-upside Bogdanovic a potential bargain at just $3 more than minimum.
Forward to Avoid
Aaron Gordon, ORL at HOU ($19): Gordon has scored fewer than 20 fantasy points in four of the last six games, with single-digit point totals three times in that span. He's been maddeningly inconsistent throughout the majority of the season, making him strictly a GPP play, and a risky one at that. With better options such as Trevor Booker ($18), Wesley Matthews ($18) and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist ($17) less expensive, Gordon makes for an avoid candidate.
CENTERS
Brook Lopez, BKN at CHA ($25): Lopez has scored between 30.7 and 43.8 fantasy points in four of the last six games, and he scored 39.5 fantasy points against this same Hornets squad in their Jan. 21 meeting. He's the centerpiece of the Nets' offense more often than not, as long as Jeremy Lin remains sidelined with a hamstring injury, and draws a highly appealing matchup against a Charlotte defense that has surrendered the fourth-most fantasy points (49.47) and most blocks (2.7) to centers.
Clint Capela, HOU vs. ORL ($17): Capela has scored no fewer than 20.3 fantasy points in each of his last seven games, and he managed an impressive 36.8 just two games ago against the Hawks. He's also been back up over the 30-minute mark in his last pair of contests for the first time since Nov. 27. That makes him a bargain at his price, particularly against a Magic defense that's surrendered the eighth-most fantasy points (49.01) to centers this season.
Center to Avoid
Mason Plumlee, POR at DAL ($25): Plumlee's production has taken a hit in each of the last three games, scoring 24.2, 22.8 and 21.3 fantasy points in those contests, respectively, with the second total having come against the Mavs on Friday. With Dirk Nowitzki ($18) and Capela ($17) both significantly cheaper and with similar upside recently, Plumlee can be steered clear of Tuesday.
