With the big week Jenstad jumped to fourth place (766.60). James Seltzer (schweppy23) has a healthy lead overall with 811.72, more than 35 points ahead of Adam Wolf (rotosomething) who is second at 776.54. After a slow week I have bolted up to seven place overall (Ed Kensik, ChicagoEd, 740.18) with a help of sixth place in Week 6 (158.8, Brees, Miller and Beckham Jr. helped).

RotoWire & FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship – Week 3

FD_RWFC_2016

Welcome to Week 3 of the NFL season.
And for me I hope the rest of the season is much better than the first two weeks where I have literally stunk up the joint.
But let me not dwell on my pathetic daily football play.

For many of the northern portion of the United States, this might be the first Sunday with a chill in the air, well relatively considering the hot summer that if finally starting to cool off. And this is the first official weekend of the fall season as we pass the Autumnal Equinox on Thursday.

And this is Week 3 of the RotoWire & FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship. If you are unfamiliar with the competition, here are the basics:

  • 10-week competition hosted on FanDuel
  • $10 entry (max five entries each week)
  • Compete against other users and three FanDuel experts (Jeff Erickson, Derek VanRiper, Kevin Payne
  • Finish above the experts, win an entry in the Week 11 Freeroll with over $5,000 in prizes and RotoWire subscriptions up for grabs
  • Each qualifying week acts as a double-up with the top 250 doubling up their cash
  • This is not a continuous competition, so you can enter every week, and you don’t have to have participated in Week 1 to enter this week’s competition

RotoWire & FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Championship – Week 11

We’re heading into the homestretch of the RotoWire/FanDuel Fantasy Baseball Championship with only five weeks remaining until the championship week.
RotoWire users can get into the action as we’ve teamed up with FanDuel to run a $10, multi-entry contest exclusively for you every Friday from April 8 to July 15 for cash prizes and entries into the $5,000 championship that will be held on July 22. There are plenty of prizes and entries to be had, so make sure to create your lineups. You can view the rules and enter the contest by clicking here.

In terms of the Rotowire expert competition, it was a changing of the guard at the top off the overall standings. Josh Fathollahi (jashfath) jumped over James Anderson (realjranderson) for first place with James dropping to second as the standings have Fathollahi with 1,302.50 points to Anderson’s 1,290.10. The standings in the top five are still tight with Ken Crites (kencrw) at fifth place, less than 67 points (1,235.80) behind Fathollahi with plenty of points remaining in the final five weeks.
For Week 10 Josh Hayes (fsinsiders) took the top spot with 154.30, just ahead of yours truly, Ed Kensik (chicagoed) with 147.30. While we both picked Clayton Kershaw and went cheap the rest of the lineup, Josh had better selections especially with the reinvigorated Padres’ Wil Myers (38.2 points), who is finally reaching his potential, and White Sox’ Brett Lawrie (24.9). I went with FanDuel’s misprint of Dodgers’ Kike Hernandez for $220. Hernandez started but came up with zero points. I would do it any day if it meant finishing in second place.

You can check out the full expert leader board here, but here’s the current top 10:

1. Josh Fathollahi (jashfath) 1,302.50
2. James Anderson (realjranderson) 1,290.10
3. Benny Ricciardi (brich11) 1,244.10
4. Aaron Quinn (aaronq) 1,240.90
5. Ken Crites (kencrw) 1,235.80
6. Joel Bartilotta (joelbartilotta) 1,224.90
7. Clay Link (linkdaddydollaz) 1,220.20
8. Jake Letarski (rotojakeski) 1,219.70
9. Ronny Mor (ronnymor2) 1,214.90
10. James Seltzer (schweppy23) 1,213.40

Seltzer was bolstered by six players who scored 24.7 player or more especially his three outfielders in Padres Matt Kemp, Rangers Nomar Mazara and Reds Adam Duvall who combined for 78.5 points. Those three along with his pitcher Mets Noah Syndergaard’s 54 points helped push him to the top. Rotowire & FanDuel Fantasy Football Championship – Week 17

Good Day and welcome to Week 17 with the long, long trip for the 2015-16 season is coming to an end.

Week 17 is probably the most unpredictable week of the NFL season. There’s a pretty good reason why most standard fantasy leagues have eliminated Week 17 in the last decade. If your season-long fantasy league has ended and about 95 percent of those leagues have ended, you can head over to FanDuel to play Sunday with several contests available for the final regular season week.

Week 17 is also the Rotowire Expert Championship with the experts who finished in the top five each week and/or the top 10 overall (weeks 1 through 16) earning an entry into the final with $2,000 up for grabs.
Shannon McKeown (rotoshannon) held on to win the RotoWire Expert Championship regular season that ended last week and he doubled it up by winning Week 16. McKeown was one of the few that had a good Week 16 as he thoroughly outpaced the field with 162.92 points, more than 10 points ahead of Brian Pelowski (brianp) who finished with 152.42 points.

McKeown took the season title with 2,074.98 points where he extended his lead after Week 15 over Josh Collacchi (JCollacchi) who finished second overall with 2,018.54 points as he accumulated only 121.92 points in Week 16. Joel Bartilotta (joelbartilotta), Tate McIntyre (tamc10) and Peter Merrill (black26) finished third, fourth and five place overall respectively.

McKeown rose to the top of the list last week with the Jaguars duo of QB Blake Bortles and WR Allen Hurns with the pair combining for 57.82 points. As it turned out it really didn’t matter if you had Hurn’s WR teammate Allen Robinson who rolled up 24.1 points. Shannon also chose RB Tim Hightower who was only owned by 2.8 percent of the owners, but rang up 30.4 points. He also benefitted from the Vikings blowout of the Giants with 23 points from Minnesota K Blair Walsh.
