Lew's Clues - "Star Struck" - First Impressions of the 2015-16 NHL Season

The NHL regular season puck drop was on October 7th - Lew's Clues Lessons #1

  • The stars of October have been twinkling in Dallas. Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin lead the league in points with 17 and 16 points respectively in 11 games. Boston's David Krejci is holding the third place for points with 15. If you have Benn and Seguin on your fantasy team then you are probably in first place as well. If you have one of the dynamic duo players - try to trade for the other to complete the pair!
  • The Dallas Stars' team success in October has been eclipsed by the Montreal Canadien's going undefeated in the first nine games of the regular season. Dallas currently has 18 points while Montreal has 20; but the Habs have played 12 games and Dallas 11. Mark your calendars for December 19th when Dallas takes on the Montreal Canadiens in the American Airlines Center in Texas.
  • Unfortunately for fantasy owners who do not have team goaltenders; Lindy Ruff has not named Antti Niemi or Kari Lehtonen as the uncontested number one goalie - instead the duo is 1A and 1B and like Forrest Gump's mother said about a box of chocolates, "You never know what your going to get." That said...Niemi has carried the bulk of the work load in net with 6 wins and 1 loss. Lehtonen has 3 wins and 1 loss. Handcuff both on your roster if possible.
  • Carey Price continues to prove that he is the best goaltender in the league this season with 7 wins, two shut-outs, .936 save percentage, and a 2.01 GAA. You don't have to worry about Price splitting time with Mike Condon. However, Price is currently dealing with a lower body injury that will keep him out for at least one week into the November schedule. Condon is a solid backup who won all three games he has started. Time to take Condon off your bench or grab him off the waiver wire if possible.
