I have seven leagues that bid on Free Agents each Sunday night. It's exhausting to stay on top of all leagues, let alone relay all the results from those leagues. But I'm going to try to relay the results of those bids late each Sunday night to give you an idea of what I'm bidding on and what it will take to get those players.

Those seven leagues are:

NFBC Main Event - 15-team mixed, no trading, $1,000 FAAB budget
NFBC Online (x2) - 12-team mixed, no trading, $1,000 FAAB budget
Mixed LABR - 15-team mixed, $100 FAAB budget
AL Tout Wars - 12-team AL-only, $1,000 FAAB budget, $0 bids allowed
FSTA - 13-team mixed, $1,000 FAAB budget
RotoWire Staff Keeper - 18-team mixed keeper, $100 budget, no $0 bids allowed

Those are the main details. I'll discuss nuances of the various leagues as it becomes relevant. Without further ado, here are the results from tonight.

NFBC Main Event

I raised my bid on Mazara twice, initially from $325 to $353, to my ultimate bid of $383. Shin-Soo Choo is out at least four-to-six weeks, giving Mazara a pretty clear path to regular playing time and the chance to win a spot full-time with the Rangers. If he's hitting as I think he's capable of, then you have a productive regular in a good lineup and great ballpark. Sure, he could go the way of Joey Gallo and need more seasoning, but the Rangers have shown a willingness to stick with productive young players and give them plenty of chances. If he is producing, he won't get sent down - they'll find another way to fit him in even after Choo returns (though not at Choo's expense).

The nuance worth mentioning here is that Mazara wasn't available in most NFBC leagues - either he was already owned, or not eligible to be picked up because his first day was on Sunday. In my league, however, he was drafted in the 30th round two weeks ago, then dropped with the first wave of free agents last week. That's the only way you can pick up a minor leaguer in the NFBC.

Drops: Adam Warren (like him, but just doesn't have the role and I needed the spot), Rubby De La Rosa (maybe will pick him back up for his two-step in Week 3), Dioner Navarro.

The Mallex Smith winner drafted and dropped him, only to reacquire him.

NFBC Online 1 - Beat Jeff Erickson ("Something Something Wheel")

This was mostly a "keep them honest" bid - I didn't expect to win Gomez by this big of a gap, not after he picked up back-to-back saves for the Phillies this weekend. I understand that the skills aren't great, but possession is 9/10 of the law when it comes to closers. He'll be my third closer, behind Jonathan Papelbon and Roberto Osuna. I also still hold Brad Boxberger - for now. If I rack up enough saves, he'll be a later drop.

My cut: Dailer Hinojosa.

I also had bids in on Ryan Madson, Jake Lamb and Nick Tropeano, among others.

NFBC Online 2 - Beat Jeff Erickson (& Vlad Sedler) - "Scorched Gut"

Vlad and I both thought that Gregerson was a must-add for us. We had one solid closer in David Robertson, but went with Drew Storen without also getting Roberto Osuna (wanted both, but lost the battle to grab him later), and then gambled on Jason Grilli instead of Arodys Vizcaino. So getting another closer was an urgent concern in a game with an overall contest. Ken Giles having two bad outings this week didn't hurt. So we'll take the overbid results in order to get saves now. Maybe we should have also grabbed Jeanmar Gomez.

I mention "tentative" because it's possibly the bids were run incorrectly, at least I think that they were for me, given who I had going to the DL. I should have had four players added, if I figured it correctly. I had Ben Revere and Kevin Gausman going to the DL, and wanted to drop Danny Duffy and Jose Peraza, who were moved to the bullpen and the minors respectively.

Because I waited on catchers (Josh Phegley is my #2 catcher), I took a flier on Holaday in case he pans out for the Rangers. At least I'll use him in weeks when Texas is at home. Tropeano has two decent starts this week. I already own Mazara in this league.

Tout Wars moved this year from a $100 FAAB budget with the Vickrey System to a $1,000 budget with no Vickrey protections, so your bid is your bid, period. It'll be a challenge to get a good feel for each others' bidding tendencies with the change in the system.

I lost Robinson Chirinos, so adding Holaday was a must. The next highest bid was $58. As for A.J. Griffin, pre-injury he used to get a lot of strikeouts, plus his one start this week is at Safeco. If that goes well enough, he gets two starts in Week 3.
