I felt a bit compelled to take the pulse of the Antonio Davis fallout with the writers around the league. Predictably, Peter Vecsey of the NY Post says Davis should have been suspended longer, while Mike Lupica says Mr. Davis needs to check his bride and stay on the court. Pretty much everyone agrees with Lupica. Mike Ulmer of the Toronto Sun says the Davises are coming to VH1 opposite Flavor Flav and Brigitte Neilson. He also recalls an episode where Kendra Davis went to a Raptors practice to yell at a beat reporter. Others, to name only a few, who think Davis got what he deserved: Stephen A. Smith of the Philadelphia Inquirer, John Jackson and Rick Telander of the Chicago Sun-Times, George Willis of the NY Post, and Mark Herrmann of Newsday. Meanwhile, Ian O'Connor of the Westchester Journal News, Rick Morrisey of the Chicago Tribune, and Mitch Lawrence of Newsday all say the NBA should have come down harder. All that said, it's pretty much a given that both sides deserve some blame in all of this and here it is.
