I Will Never Buy A GMC
Little things bother me. Like being barraged by the GMC commercial stating something like, "Amateurs practice until they get it right...pros practice until they can't get it wrong." The backdrop: footage of catches by the likes of Fred Beasley, Robert Ferguson, and Andre Davis.
Their lack of research (which would have cost as much as some account rep asking his brother in law who a good receiver is) will now forever make me think, "GMC -- The Fred Beasley of Performance Trucks."

It's on You, Holmgren
The more I ponder the Seahawks-Bears game the more I'm inclined to put the blame for the Seahawks debacle squarely on the shoulders of Mike Holmgren. He game-planned as if he still had Shaun Alexander in the backfield. Alexander's mere presence poses a threat for defenses. Minus him, Seattle had to prove its running game was still a threat to keep Chicago's defense honest, so it wouldn't gang up on stopping the pass. Instead, Holmgren ran Maurice Morris just four times in the first quarter (and never on first down). That told the Bears they didn't need to worry about a running game in the least. And they didn't. They dropped a bunch of guys in coverage and their linemen bull-rushed the quarterback. Then everything snowballed. Obviously, that's how the Bears were going to play it. Perhaps Holmgren knows Morris isn't all he's cracked up to be and had no chance of establishing a running threat, so he canned the idea from the get-go. Other than that, I'd be interested in knowing what he could have possibly been thinking.

Warner's Not the Problem
What game was Dennis Green watching Sunday? Kurt Warner gets knocked around from the get-go with absolutely no time to throw and then Green pulls him for Leinart. And what happens to Leinart? He gets mauled and fumbles on his second snap. Isn't it obvious that Kurt Warner isn't the problem in Arizona? The problem is the offensive line. Why is Edgerrin James getting stuffed on every run? Is that Warner's fault, too? So now Leinart is going to start. OK, fine. But it's a little like replacing the steering wheel when the tires are blown.

A Couple Stupid Mistakes
| The Raiders are down three midway through the fourth quarter and mounting a good drive. Andrew Walter completes and 16 yard pass on 3rd and 16 to Ronald Curry who easily passes the marker. The spot is terrible, and the measurement shows it's half a yard short of the first down. This is reviewable, and the replay clearly shows the spot would be changed. But Art Shell doesn't challenge the spot, the Raiders go on 4th and 1, and get stuffed.
This one is less, but still - Jon Kitna, 4th down with 10 seconds left in the game from the Rams' 37 yard line throws the hail mary out of the back of the end zone. I mean I know it's a hail mary, but come on, get the thing in play - the end zone is big enough to fit the ball into. No excuse for not giving your guys a chance to make a play.
