Listening to the radio tonight I heard JT make a prediction. Before he did, however, he really built it up. "I'm going out on a limb, because that's where the fruit is," said Brick. He announced he was predicting the Sharks to win the Cup, even though he loves his new affiliate in Ottawa. He didn't support his reasoning at all, but that wasn't what bothered me. It was the fact that the playoffs have already started. There's only eight teams left. I'm sure if the Sharks win the Cup, then he'll be bragging and if they lose he won't mention it. I make mistakes -- after all, I keep telling myself this is the Pirates' year -- but how much weight can one put on a prediction whose outcome has already been 25 percent decided? Maybe the guy just annoys me...

Sabres vs. Sens: Series for the Ages
Not since the glory days of the 80s Oilers have hockey fans seen wide-open, high-octane play like the kind we'll see in the Sabres-Sens series. The Sabres will give the Sens a true run for their money but in the end, the talent of Heatley, Afly, Havlat and Spezza will trump that of Briere, Connolly, Afinogenov and Dumont. Take your cooler down beside the TV because it's going to be mighty hard to pry yourself away from the tube to get another wobbly-pop during these games.

Is it just me, or does it seem like a lot of people are
really, really glad that the Flyers got smoked by the Sabres?

Strange Hockey Happenings?
It's a long shot Anaheim steals Game 7 in Calgary, but if it happens, we could have a very strange sports anomaly. The East could be a 1-2-3-4 for the quarters, and the West would be 5-6-7-8.
