An impossible feat, to say the least, but the kid is going to be better than critics have described him to be. Barring injury, Evgeni Malkin will win the Calder with an easy 80+ point season -- he's simply a man among boys in this year's rookie class. But Kessel will surprise with an easy 20 goal, 45 point season in the Hub of Hockey... and maybe even more. He's going to have his periods of inconsistency -- after all, he's not even 19 until the winter winds start to come in off the ocean -- but his speed and his "dangle" will catch even Glen Murray off guard (OK, so that's not hard to do). And before long, Kessel will start skating with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Boyes. Now that's a number one line.
