This is the dumbest thing I've read in ... ever. From someone named Gwen Knapp, who writes for the San Francisco Chronicle:
"Tiger Woods is an idiot. A mesmerizing, peerless, incandescent idiot."
Why?
"If he'd used his head at all, he would never have entered the U.S. Open last week with a double stress fracture and a torn ligament in his left leg."
Her argument is that Woods put his future in jeopardy by gutting out the U.S. Open on a bad wheel. She even quotes Jerry Rice on the difficulty of returning from knee injuries. Now, I've never played on the PGA Tour, but as far as I know, Ray Lewis isn't going to jump out of a sandtrap and flatten Tiger as he strolls up the fairway. What stupid drivel. Seriously, this lady draws a paycheck? At some point if you're her editor, don't you pull her aside and tell her to stop acting like a ninny?
Apparently she wrote the column before doctors gave word that Tiger should recover just fine. But even if Tiger's game is permanently damaged from the injury, what's the big deal? He's Tiger Woods. He'd still dominate with one good leg and a pirate peg leg for the other.
