I'm not sure you can really call Allison a 'prospect' anymore. His window for putting together any kind of baseball career seems to be closed, even though he's only 21. It would be like calling Brien Taylor a Yankee prospect.

That said, I really hope he proves me wrong.

Allison's addiction to OxyContin or "hillbilly heroin" is well documented, and heroin is the next closest in the family of drugs that would give him a similar "high". Sadly, one-in-20 U.S. high schoolers have "used" [OxyC]; Allison's use turned into addiction.

We need to think about him as a kid who has fallen off the rails, and to be blunt, we need to hope he stays alive as this type of addiction is difficult to beat.

Yes. I think baseball is not in the picture at all. He has to get right with his life first.
