If you want to find an indication of the Orioles' struggles the last decade, here's a defining metric. On Thursday, Adam Loewen became the first Baltimore pitcher since Sidney Ponson in 1998 to beat the Yankees twice in a season. Yes folks, they're in the same division, and play 19 times a year. I hope they spend some of this money they'll be getting from their new TV deal that Peter Angelos extorted from the Nationals on some good free agents next season.

Angelos, while all around bad for The Orioles and baseball, did not "extort" any more money than what he is due----DC wanted baseball, since football is not worth watching, so they had to pay the price. Posted by timkeogh at 9/29/2006 2:51:00 PM
