Bright is expected to play a key role for St. Mary's in the 2014-15 season, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bright's final year at Stanford was cut short due to season-ending shoulder surgery, but he has been granted an extra year of eligibility with the Gaels under the NCAA graduate student transfer rules. After averaging 8.7 points and 2.9 assists over three seasons with the Cardinals, the senior guard will look to finish his college basketball career with a strong season for St. Mary's.

Bright (shoulder) will transfer to St. Mary's for the 2014-15 season, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reports.

Bright underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in early December and will be granted an extra year of eligibility with the Gaels under the NCAA's graduate transfer rule. The 5-foot-11 guard was named when the MVP of NIT for Stanford in 2012, when the Cardinal won the postseason tournament. He averaged 5.9 points over seven games before suffering the injury this season.
