Pellom is expected to miss five weeks following knee surgery earlier this week, the Associated Press reports.

Pellom, who sat out the entire 2012-13 with a wrist injury, has dealt with knee problems in the past and elected to have the surgery after experiencing discomfort during practices. Before transferring to Memphis, he last played in the 2011-12 season for George Washington, averaging 10.4 points and 6.1 while shooting an impressive 68.5 percent from the field.
