Trice scored 14 points and dished out six assists in Thursday's win over Purdue.

Trice is having the best shooting season of his career and does a lot of things that the box score doesn't show. He won't be a fantasy factor in most leagues but he's an important piece to one of the nation's top teams.

Trice (foot) expects to return Saturday against Texas after sitting out in Tuesday's game against North Florida, reports.

Trice had battled injuries through injuries during his sophomore season but should only miss one game in total due to this current foot problem. He's an off-the-bench player for the Spartans, averaging 21.6 minutes a game this season.

Trice, who has suffered through an ankle injury since Feb. 11, tweaked his ankle in Wednesday's practice but should be ready for Michigan State's matchup with Iowa on Friday, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Spartans coach Tom Izzo expects to provide more minutes to Trice, a freshman guard, after Branden Dawson suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Sunday's loss to Ohio State. Nonetheless, Trice tallied a total of two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds, and two assists in 14 minutes during Michigan State's last two regular season contests. Thus, it's difficult to forecast tournament success for him in the coming weeks with a newly hurt ankle.

Trice (ankle) is expected to miss Tuesday's game at Indiana, the Lansing State Journal reports.

As a result, Trice will not participate in his fifth consecutive contest. Michigan State has only one matchup remaining on their Big Ten slate, Mar. 4 against Ohio State, against whom Trice initially suffered his right ankle sprain on Feb. 11. Following that, it's tournament time for the Spartans, who could use Trice's 5.2 points, 1.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1 treys, and 0.8 steals in 18.5 minutes on the season.

Trice is doubtful for Sunday's contest at Purdue with a sprained right ankle, Michigan Live reports.

Trice suffered the injury in Michigan State's win at Ohio State on Feb. 11, causing him to wear a protective boot during Thursday's victory over Wisconsin. Following Friday's afternoon practice, the freshman guard said, "The swelling's going down, but I still can't move laterally at all." On the season, Trice has played in 24 of the Spartans' 26 games, averaging 5.2 points, 1.9 assists, 1.9 rebounds, 1.1 treys, and 0.8 steals in 18.5 minutes.
