Jurkin was suspended for nine games because he received impermissible benefits, the AP reports. Forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea was also suspended.
Jurkin is a seven-foot center who is expected to be Cody Zeller's primary backup. The Hoosiers will enter the season a little light in the roster.
