Fischer tallied eight points (4-6 FG) and six rebounds in 26 minutes off the Golden Eagle bench during the loss to South Carolina on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Fischer came off the bench to conclude his senior season and had a patch on his injured right shoulder. He converted 64.7 percent of his field goals on his way to 10.9 points, his lowest average as a Golden Eagle. The center only scored in double digits once in his last seven games.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fischer, who was limited to 19 minutes against Seton Hall in the Big East Tournament, is feeling good heading into Friday's NCAA Tournament opener against South Carolina, The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Fischer has been dealing with ongoing shoulder troubles throughout his collegiate career, and they flared up again in the loss to Seton Hall -- Marquette's only Big East Tournament appearance. The senior looks to be faring better heading into his first and final appearance in the Big Dance, however, where the Golden Eagles draw what's projected to be a close matchup against the Gamecocks. Although Marquette's success rate from beyond the arc stands to be the biggest factor in determining this contest, Fischer's ability to defend bigs Maik Kotsar and Chris Silva -- both of whom he'll have a size advantage against -- will play a meaningful role as well.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fischer returned to the starting lineup and provided 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 FT) and four rebounds in the win over Creighton on Saturday.

Fischer had been coming off the bench, while sophomore Max Heldt started. He only averaged 5.0 points in his previous four games, but returned to the pivot. Fischer has accrued four fouls in his last five games and fouled out three times. Marquette takes on Seton Hall on Thursday in the Big East tournament. Fischer will be called upon to slow down Angel Delgado. He averaged 13.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in the season split with the Pirates, and fouled out of both games.

Fischer has come alive in the last four games. He has averaged 13.3 points on 66.7 percent from the field with 9.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. The Golden Eagles have only won one of those contests to fall to 6-6 in Big East. Marquette takes on Georgetown on Saturday. Fischer had eight points and 10 rebounds in the Big East opener loss against the Hoyas.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Fischer provided 12 points and seven rebounds in the loss to Seton Hall on Saturday. He fouled out after 29 minutes.

Fischer has been ambling along as a center. His numbers remain relatively similar to last year and he has not had a breakout game. The 6-11 center has scored at least eight points in 10 straight games, but has only topped 15 points twice in that span.
