Biruta put up his fourth double-double of the season Wednesday at La Salle, finishing with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Biruta has been very streaky this season, and had 13 points and 14 rebounds combined in his last two contests. He'll struggle to score consistently as long as Xavier Munford dominates shot opportunities.

Biruta has decided to transfer from Rutgers, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Biruta had started all but one game in his two years for the Scarlet Knights but struggled this season in an offensive scheme that relied heavily on guard-play. Two potential landing spots that have been mentioned are the University of Rhode Island and the University of Maryland, although Biruta will have to sit out a year before he can play again due to the transfer rules.

Biruta had 21 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal during Sunday's loss to Syracuse.

A very surprising performance for Biruta, who has scored in double figures only twice in 2012. He did a good job of exploiting the Syracuse zone, although it wasn't nearly enough to help the Scarlet Knights to a victory.
