McDaniels has officially announced he will be entering the NBA Draft.

The Clemson forward had a breakout season averaging 17.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists. In addition to his impressive season averages, McDaniels also led the Tigers this year in three point field goals. The combination of being a proven scorer along with his impressive defensive skill set should lead to McDaniels being selected in the mid to late first round.

McDaniels is expected to declare for the NBA Draft some time this week, Yahoo! Sports reports.

McDaniels is coming off a junior season in which he averaged 17.1 points and 7.1 rebounds for Clemson. At 6-6, McDaniels possesses great athleticism that allows him to play above the rim and be a strong perimeter defender. While his jump shot lacks consistency, McDaniels could be a first-round sleeper.

McDaniels played with a wrap over his left (non-shooting) shoulder during the ACC tournament, and said Monday that the shoulder has been bugging him for 4-5 weeks, The Post and Courier reports.

Nothing is torn in the shoulder, but the injury has supposedly been affecting his play of late. He still managed 30 points on 9-of-24 shooting with nine rebounds and three blocks in two ACC tournament games. He says he's been rehabbing and taking pain medication for the shoulder in preparation for Clemson's upcoming NIT game against Georgia State on Tuesday.
