Johnson (achilles) has been cleared to participate in all basketball related activities, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

The senior forward missed the entirety of his 2015 campaign due to an Achilles injury, but is now nearing a return to full strength. He's been cleared for all basketball related activities, which means he should be ready to go well before the season starts. During his junior season, Johnson finished with averages of 10.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 24 minutes per game and should return to the lineup as regular rotational contributor.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (Achilles) has been working out since early June according to Tad Boyle, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Johnson missed all of the 2015-16 season with an Achilles injury. As a junior in the 2014-15 season, Johnson averaged 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 24 minutes per game. The 6-foot-7 forward will look to rejoin the Buffaloes for his senior season after getting a medical redshirt for 2015-16. He'll likely be ready for fall practice.

Johnson (achilles) may not return to the court this season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Johnson returned to practice and was very hopeful for a return once he got back to full strength and regained his conditioning. However Tad Boyle expressed his concern that he fears Johnson will be unavailable the rest of year.

Johnson (Achilles) was a full participant in practice Friday but remains without a timetable for a return, The Denver Post reports. "It was good to get back out there and compete a little bit. I didn't do every drill, but i did the live drill. So it was good to compete...Every day I'm progressing," said Johnson when asked about his first practice back after suffering a torn Achilles over the summer.

According to the report, the major hurdle for Johnson is conditioning. His left calf has yet to regain full strength and he still needs time to get back into game shape. That said, there is some potential that Johnson could get back on the floor in late January or early February provided he continues to progress with no setbacks. If he does suffer a setback, however, he'll likely opt for a medical redshirt and return for the 2016-17 season.

Johnson (Achilles) will undergo an MRI on Tuesday to determine whether he will redshirt this season, CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein reports.

After tearing his Achilles tendon over the summer, there was some optimism that Johnson could get back on the court in time for the start of conference play. However, with the start of Pac 12 play looming, Johnson is set to undergo an MRI to confirm whether a return is feasible this season. Look for a further update on his status once the results of the MRI are released.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (achilles) will likely use a medical redshirt in 2015-16 and return for a fifth year, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Earlier on it looked as though he was considering returning for part of the PAC 12 play, but that appears to be out of the question at this point. Johnson average 10.3 points, 5.6 boards and 0.7 assists in around 24 minutes as a junior, and will look to improve on that total as a fifth-year senior, assuming he does take that route as expected.

Johnson (Achilles) could return for Pac 12 play this season, CBS Sports reports. Coach Tad Boyle said, "We will address it in mid-December and see where he is. My guess is redshirt, but I'm not ruling out a Pac-12 season return either. We're preparing for either scenario."

Johnson is expected to miss the 2015-16 season, but his coach is at least leaving the door open for his return. The 6-7 forward provided 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds last season. If he is unable to return, George King, who redshirted last season, would likely start.

Johnson underwent surgery to repair his torn left Achilles tendon, the AP reports. There was no immediate timetable for his return. Coach Tad Boyle said, "This is one of those injuries where the timetable is pretty broad, so we're not ruling out Xavier's return next year."

Johnson is heading into his senior season after providing 10.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 24.3 minutes last year. He could redshirt since he will likely miss the majority of the season. The team may lean on redshirt sophomore George King to take some of Johnson's minutes.
