Hancock (Achilles') will miss Saturday's season opener against the College of Charleston, ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman reports.

Hancock, who took home Most Outstanding Player honors during last season's Final Four, has been dealing with the nagging injury all preseason and has yet to practice. The senior marksman is out indefinitely and will open up more minutes at small forward for Wayne Blackshear.

Hancock single-handedly brought the Cardinals back with a barrage of 3-pointers in the first half in the NCAA title win on Monday. He finished with 22 points, which equaled his season-high, including five 3-pointers.

Hancock scored 22 points, including four 3-pointers, in the five-overtime loss to Notre Dame on Saturday. He was 4-of-13 from long range and added four rebounds before fouling out.

Hancock had only provided 5.3 points in his previous three games, but he found the range and had plenty of opportunities in the 65-minute game. The George Mason transfer has only scored in double digits six times this season.
