Coleman (knee) will red shirt this season, Syracuse.com's Donna Ditota reports.

Soreness and stiffness in his knee will sideline Coleman for a long enough stretch that it made more sense to preserve a year of eligibility and have him come back fresh next season. He had knee surgery this time last year, and his recovery has not been smooth. Fantasy owners can ignore the junior center/forward for the rest of this season.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Coleman (knee) appears likely to redshirt for the 2014-15 season, Sports Illustrated reports.

Coleman will still be given a few more weeks to see if his lingering knee issues take a turn for the better, but a medical redshirt seems to be the most plausible scenario at this point. The junior center hasn't seen game action for nearly one calendar year, and although he's been able to participate in some drills during practice, it wouldn't be surprising to see coach Jim Boeheim to take a conservative approach. In Coleman's absence, look for Michael Gbinije and Rakeem Christmas to continue to see heavy minutes.

A decision on Coleman's (knee) availability this season is still likely two weeks away, Mike Waters of Syracuse.com reports.

Having already missed the first eight games of the 2014-15 campaign, Coleman and the Syracuse staff are still about two weeks away from gauging exactly where the junior center's progress is in recovery from knee surgery. At that time, there should be a decision made on whether Coleman will play this season or take a redshirt.

Coleman (knee) is ramping up his activity at recent practices, Syracuse.com reports.

Coleman continues to progress from surgery last January to repair damaged cartilage in his knee. He took part in full-court drills Sunday and participated in controlled half-court drills in Monday's session. The team is yet to provide a target return date, but Coleman should be back in action within the next few weeks.

Coleman (knee) will not play in Friday's game versus Kennesaw State, Mike Waters of Syracuse.com reports.

Still in the recovery process from knee surgery that ended his 2013-14 campaign prematurely, Coleman is slated to be out of action for at least the first couple of games of the 2014-15 season. Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim is hopeful of having his Junior big man back in action to some capacity by the end of November.

Coleman doesn't have an official time table for return, but coach Jim Boeheim is hopeful that he'll be available in November.

Coleman suffered a leg injury last season in January and is still in the thick of the rehab process. While it's unclear when he'll return, it does seem that he'll be able to play by the end of the 2014-15 season.

Coleman is continuing to progress in his rehab from a leg injury that ended his season in January, Syracuse.com reports. "Hopefully, I'll start jogging next month [August]," said Coleman on what's next in his rehab program.

Coleman's progress has been very gradual, but he has been making strides nonetheless. The swelling in the area has become less and less severe in recent weeks, and Coleman says that the swelling subsides much more quickly now than it did earlier in his recovery. Coleman expects to be back for the regular season, but that will depend on how his knee responds to the physical grind of practicing every day at full speed.

Coleman (leg) will miss the remainder of the season after surgery, Syracuse.com reports.

Coleman has missed five of the last six games with a leg injury. Derrick's son was averaging 4.0 points and 4.0 rebounds. Jeremi Grant will continue to start as the back line of the Orange zone takes a slight hit.
