Gallegos, a senior, did his best to help the Cornhuskers stay with Baylor scoring 15 points and adding a pair of rebounds, assists and steals, but it wasn't enough as they fell 74-60 Friday.

Gallegos turned in one of his better performances of the year but Nebraska was playing from way behind for most of this game.

Gallegos poured in 18 points in 23 minutes and had one steal in his return from suspension on Sunday against South Carolina State.

The Cornhuskers will need Gallegos to perform well this season if they hope to compete come tournament time. Gallegos did all of his damage from downtown going 6-of-10 from beyond the arc while attempting just one shot inside it.

Gallegos was suspended for the Cornhuskers' first two games of the season, the Associated Press reports.

Gallegos will miss Friday's opener vs. Florida Gulf Coast as well as Tuesday's contest against Western Illinois for a violation of team rules. The senior led the Big Ten with 37.5 minutes per game last season and averaged 12.5 points.
