Mickey announced Tuesday that he will enter the 2015 NBA Draft, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Mickey enjoyed a stellar sophomore season, averaging 15.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 3.6 blocks while helping lead LSU to the NCAA Tournament. The 6-8 forward is an intriguing prospect, but he's a little undersized and doesn't have much of an outside game, so he projects as a late-first-rounder at best.

Mickey (shoulder) had 12 points (4-13 FG, 4-9 FT), 14 rebounds, and six blocks in Thursday's loss to NC State.

Mickey had been dealing with shoulder soreness and a recently-reported discovery of an iron deficiency, but made his presence known on both sides of the court. It was his 16th double-double of the season, and his six rejections were his highest total in over a month. Unfortunately, his performance may be best remembered by shortcomings at the charity stripe down the stretch.

Mickey (shoulder) has been dealing with an iron deficiency over the past several weeks, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. "It definitely affected my energy level -- fatigue," Mikey stated, adding, "I was getting tired a lot quicker than usual, so I kind of knew something was wrong. So that's when they sent me to get the blood work."

Mickey's blood work showed that his iron levels were "a little low," so as stated, he was getting tired a bit quicker than usual during games. Mix those effects with the regular grind of a big man over a long season, and it's not surprising to see his production declining of late. The 6-8 sophomore has recorded 15 double-doubles on the season, but remains without one for over the past 30 days. Mickey, the nation's leading shot blocker, is now on some supplements to balance those levels out, though it remains to be seen if that will have a measurable effect.

Mickey (shoulder) will be "close to 100 percent" for Thursday's NCAA Tournament matchup against NC State, according to coach Johnny Jones, The Advocate reports.

Mickey was limited to just one point in 16 minutes of action in last Friday's SEC tournament loss to Auburn, and had missed the regular season finale due to the same shoulder ailment. Jones expects to have the 6-8 sophomore back in the starting lineup for the tournament's opening round, but it's tough to determine how close he'll be able to get to his season averages of 15.5 PPG and 9.8 RPG. A double-double machine earlier in the season, Mickey hasn't reached that feat in his last six games -- his longest such stretch of the year. However, when at full strength, Mickey and fellow forward Jarell Martin form arguably the most talented frontcourt duo in the nation.

Mickey had nine points and eight rebounds against Tennessee on Wednesday.

Despite averaging nearly a double-double on the year, the sophomore has now gone five-straight games without achieving the feat.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mickey had 14 points (6-15 FG, 2-3 FT), six rebounds and four blocks over 35 minutes in Saturday's victory over Florida.

Mickey failed to reach his season averages in scoring and rebounding for the second straight game, as it was fellow sophomore Jarell Martin who stole the show with a career-high 28 points Saturday. Mickey still turned in a commendable effort on the defensive side, as the 6-foot-8 forward continues to lead the SEC with 3.8 rejections per game, a full block more than Kentucky's Karl-Anthony Towns (2.3 BPG). Look for Mickey to get back on track with several more big-time games down the stretch.

It was the 15th double-double of the season for Mickey, who also tied a career-high with the seven rejections.

Mickey had 24 points and 12 rebounds against Alabama on Saturday.

It was the third-straight double-double for Mickey, who has also notched five such outputs in the last six games for the Tigers.
