Lawrence will be eligible to play this upcoming season for Manhattan, CBS Sports reports.

Lawrence being eligible will give a boost to the Jaspers' offense next season. While he only played in 26 games last season and averaged just 2.8 points and 2.9 boards per game last season, he still has three years of eligibility left. His experience in the American Conference for a season will certainly benefit him in the MAAC and coach Steve Masiello's plan to make a return trip to the NCAA tournament.

Lawrence announced Thursday that he will transfer to Manhattan, CBS Sports reports.

The Cincinnati transfer struggled to find his role in his lone season with the Bearcats, putting up just 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.0 minutes. The former five-star recruit, and New York native, will look to get back on track closer to home after sitting out the 2014-15 season, per NCAA rules.

Lawrence has requested a release from Cincinnati, Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports reports.

While asking for a release does not necessarily mean it will be granted for a transfer, it appears likely at this point. As a freshman, Lawrence played 15 minutes per game and averaged 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds. Out of high school, the big man was a five star recruit and may have felt under utilized by the Bearcats.
