Lawrence has withdrawn from school and will look to transfer, Jeff Goodman of ESPN.com reports.

Lawrence was initially suspended for half of the season after failing a drug test, but has decided to withdraw from school after being neglected an appeal by Manhattan. His mother said that he will be looking to transfer to Division II or Division III schools, and has not ruled out trying to go professional overseas. Lawrence never had much fantasy value to being with, and will hold none after his decision to withdraw.

Lawrence will have to sit out half of the season due to a failed drug test, Jeff Goodman of ESPN reports.

The junior forward, Lawrence, was originally told he was only to be suspended for one exhibition game and to enroll in drug counseling and treatment, but Manhattan changed the punishment in November, saying Lawrence would have to miss half of the season, and also lose 50 percent of his scholarship aid. Although he doesn't produce much fantasy value, during the 2014-15 season Lawrence started eight of 22 appearances, and averaged 4.59 point and 1.64 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game.

Lawrence will be eligible to play this upcoming season for Manhattan, CBS Sports reports.

Lawrence being eligible will give a boost to the Jaspers' offense next season. While he only played in 26 games last season and averaged just 2.8 points and 2.9 boards per game last season, he still has three years of eligibility left. His experience in the American Conference for a season will certainly benefit him in the MAAC and coach Steve Masiello's plan to make a return trip to the NCAA tournament.

Lawrence announced Thursday that he will transfer to Manhattan, CBS Sports reports.

The Cincinnati transfer struggled to find his role in his lone season with the Bearcats, putting up just 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds in 15.0 minutes. The former five-star recruit, and New York native, will look to get back on track closer to home after sitting out the 2014-15 season, per NCAA rules.

Lawrence has requested a release from Cincinnati, Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports reports.

While asking for a release does not necessarily mean it will be granted for a transfer, it appears likely at this point. As a freshman, Lawrence played 15 minutes per game and averaged 2.5 points and 2.9 rebounds. Out of high school, the big man was a five star recruit and may have felt under utilized by the Bearcats.

Lawrence's toe injury had kept him sidelined since January 4th. Prior to the injury, Lawrence was averaging 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in his freshman year for the Bearcats.
