Johnson had a team-high 23 points (9-22 FG, 5-5 3Pt), adding three rebounds and a steal in Sunday's loss to Oklahoma.

Johnson was quick with the trigger in this matchup, hoisting up a game-high 22 attempts from the field. The senior tried to put the Rams on his back, and although he and fellow guard JeQuan Lewis (22 points) kept the game close, they simply didn't have enough firepower to contend with the fast-paced, sharp-shooting Oklahoma offensive attack. Johnson will finish a stellar tenure at VCU with 1,657 career points, and can hold his head high knowing he helped lead the Rams to an NCAA Tournament appearance in each of his four years with the program.

NCAA Tournament Preview: Player Rankings

Michigan State's Denzel Valentine does a little bit of everything (OK, a lot of everything), which makes him an easy top pick in NCAA Tournament fantasy drafts.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (ankle) had 12 points (5-15 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and one assist over 34 minutes in Friday's loss to Oregon State.

Johnson had been hampered a bit by an ankle injury last weekend, but as expected, he was near full strength for VCU's opening game of the NCAA tournament. His 34 minutes on the floor were a three-game high, and he took more shots than any other VCU player in the contest. If Johnson could get a few more of those three-point baskets to fall, he could be in for a stellar fantasy performance. He'll get a chance to do just that Sunday, as the Rams will take on the No. 2-seeded Sooners for a berth in the Sweet 16.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (ankle) is expected to be close to full strength for Friday's game against Oregon State, Tim Pearrell of the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports.

The Rams' leading scorer is dealing with an ankle injury and was clearly hampered in the A10 Tournament, putting up just 14 points over 51 combined minutes in his last two games. However, head coach Will Wade told reporters Tuesday that he expects Johnson to be close to full health for Friday's tip-off. Johnson will be somewhat limited in practice this week in order to give his ankle some extra rest.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (ankle) had five points (2-7 FG, 1-5 3 PT) and three rebounds over 31 minutes in Sunday's A10 tournament championship loss to St. Joseph's.

Johnson played just 20 minutes in the A10 semifinal due to an ankle ailment, and although he logged a full day's work Sunday, the senior guard wasn't particularly efficient from the field. Considering he played, Johnson doesn't appear to be at risk of missing further game action, and should be available when the Rams take on Oregon State on Friday in the round of 64.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson (ankle) had nine points (3-6 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and a rebound over 20 minutes in Saturday's A10 semifinal victory over Davidson.

Per Lana Casadonte of CBS 6, Johnson had been dealing with an ankle issue of late, though it didn't prevent him from warming up and getting the starting nod. He played only 20 minutes, however, a full 10 minutes less than his season average of 31.9 MPG. As long as the Rams sustain a comfortable lead in Sunday's final like they did Saturday, it would be sensible to save the senior guard for the NCAA Tournament. This won't be nearly as easy of a task squaring off against the 26-7 Saint Joseph's Hawks, however.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson finished with 19 points, four assists and one rebound Tuesday against Rhode Island.

The senior guard has fully embraced his role as a go-to scorer for the Rams. He's averaging a career-best 18.1 points, having scored in double-figures in all but one game. He doesn't provide much else but is the safest bet out of a deep VCU rotation on a nightly basis.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson had 25 points, seven rebounds and three steals Tuesday at St. Joseph's.

Johnson has now hit for 22 or more points in three straight games and in four of his last five, all coming on the heels of a woeful 0-for-11 outing against Cincinnati on December 19. He's been streaky on the glass however, making him little more than a scorer and someone who is far more valuable and consistent for the Rams than your fantasy lineup.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Johnson had 15 points, two assists and a rebound Sunday against Liberty.

Johnson needed only 13 minutes in the blowout victory.. He hit 5-of-6 from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Johnson has rebounded nicely since an 0-of-11 outing against Cincinnati, averaging 18.5 points in his last two games while hitting nine 3-pointers. Hes averaging 17.9 points on the year, but offers little more than scoring from a fantasy perspective, as he's posted 1.7 boards and 2.3 rebounds.
