Cekovsky (ankle) did not play Thursday against Iowa.

The junior big man was downgraded to doubtful shortly before tipoff Thursday and ultimately did not play. Maryland has four full days off prior to returning to action against Rutgers on Tuesday, which could give Cekovsky enough time to get back on the floor. In any case, more updates on Cekovsky figure to come out closer to tipoff against the Scarlet Knights.

January 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky (ankle) is not warming with the team and is not expected to play Thursday against Iowa, Roman Stubbs of the Washington Post reports.

Cekovsky has been making encouraging progress from his ankle injury, but he's still not quite ready for game action. It appears he'll miss his sixth consecutive game Thursday as a result. With that, Damonte Dodd, Justin Jackson, and Ivan Bender figure to pick up most of the minutes in the Terrapin frontcourt Thursday.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky (ankle) is "questionable" Thursday against Iowa, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Cekovsky will provide much-needed depth to the Maryland frontcourt, as they are currently starting a smaller lineup with Damonte Dodd at the five and Ivan Bender coming off the bench in relief. Cekovsky hasn't played in five straight games, but had started four in a row before suffering the injury. Expect him to see meaningful minutes upon returning, whether it be Thursday evening or Tuesday against Rutgers.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky's ankle rehab is coming along faster than anticipated, giving him the chance to to possibly play on Thursday, Roman Stubbs of the Washington Post reports.

Cekovsky has missed five games for Maryland so far because of the ankle injury. Coach Mark Turgeon will update his status prior to Thursday's matchup, but at this point, Cekovsky will be a game-time decision against the Hawkeyes.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky (ankle) will not play in Saturday's game against Illinois, Roman Stubbs of the Washington Post reports.

Cekovsky has shed the walking boot he was using, but he is not ready for game action just yet. He could have a chance to get back on the court for the Terrapins' next game Thursday against Iowa.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky is unlikely to play Saturday against Illinois because of an ankle injury, CBS Sports reports.

Cekovsky has missed the last four games with the ankle injury. The 7-1 junior is averaging 10.0 points and 3.8 rebounds. Damonte Dodd has appeared in the last three games and taken most of his minutes due to Cekovsky being out.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky (ankle) is wearing a walking boot during pregame warmups and will not play in Tuesday's game against Indiana, Roman Stubbs of The Washington Post reports.

After optimism surrounded Cekovsky's status heading into Tuesday's contest, the power forward will now miss his fourth straight game with the ankle injury after not participating in warmups. With Damonte Dodd now back in the rotation after missing time with a knee injury, look for him to get a solid dose of minutes in the frontcourt in Cekovsky's absence.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Cekovsky (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's Big Ten matchup against Indiana, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.

Cekovsky has missed three straight games, but it appears there's a chance the 7-1 center from Slovakia could be back on the court for a matchup against a tough conference foe. Even if he does have to miss a fourth straight, the Maryland frontcourt is gradually getting closer to full strength, as Damonte Dodd (knee) returned to action Saturday.
