DraftKings CFL DFS Picks: Week 10 Value Plays

DraftKings CFL DFS Picks: Week 10 Value Plays

This article is part of our DraftKings CFL DFS Picks series.

Quarterback

Mike Reilly, EDM vs. SSK ($11,400): Reilly put together his fifth consecutive game with at least 30 fantasy points last week against the Bombers, and he's thrown multiple touchdown passes in all of those contests. He's a no-brainer at this point if you're paying up at quarterback , and the rushing upside he offers makes him all the more appealing. The Riders have actually been slightly better than average against the pass (275.9 yards allowed per game), but Reilly has repeatedly demonstrated that he's more or less matchup-proof, and he's also put up at least 33 pass attempts in all but one game this season.

Matt Nichols, WPG at MTL ($10,200): Nichols may not get the hype of a Reilly or a Ricky Ray, but he's quietly put together a very impressive campaign in his own right. The veteran threw for 390 yards in a showdown against Reilly and the Eskimos in Week 9 and has eclipsed the 300-yard mark on four occasions this season. Three of those instances have come within the last four games, including a 352-yard, two-touchdown effort that netted 27.52 fantasy points in Week 6 against this same Als squad. What's more, Nichols has actually been more productive on the road (26.6 fantasy points per game) and the Als check in allowing the fourth-most passing yards (304.6) per contest.

Ricky Ray, TOR at CGY ($9,100): Somehow, Ray sees a $500 salary drop from last week following a 377-yard, four-touchdown night against the Als that netted 33.08 fantasy points. Granted, he draws a much tougher matchup this week, as the Stamps are second only to the Argos themselves in passing yards allowed per game (250.3). However, Ray was holding his own against this same Calgary squad (15-for-26, 139 yards and one touchdown) back in Week 7 before leaving the game in the third quarter due to a shoulder injury, and he amply demonstrated he's back to full health with last week's performance. With an average of 23.5 fantasy points and a 5:2 TD:INT ratio in three road games this season, Ray makes for a very viable option at his reduced price.

Running Back

Andrew Harris, WPG at MTL ($7,900): Harris is my "click it and forget it" pick each week, given that he carries the most upside of any running back in the CFL. He demonstrated it again last week, compiling a whopping 35.5 fantasy points against the Eskimos on the strength of a 100-yard rushing and receiving night. That marked the second game of over 30 fantasy points for Harris this season, and he now draws a matchup against an Als team that he posted a nine-catch, 93-yard effort against in Week 7 as part of a performance with 134 total yards. Montreal is a bit better than average against the run (82.9) but gives up over 300 yards per contest through the air, keeping Harris as the top choice at running back once again.

Cameron Marshall, SSK at EDM ($6,100): Marshall has consistently been a rewarding selection in his own right at a tier below Harris, as the Riders have upped his touches as the season has unfolded. He turned in a season-high 25.4 fantasy points against the Lions before the Riders' Week 9 bye, scoring through both the ground and air. He's also averaging a solid 14.3 fantasy points in four home games this season, while the Eskimos are coming off a game in which they allowed the Bombers' Andrew Harris to eclipse 100 yards in both rushing and receiving. Edmonton has also allowed the third-most rushing yards (92.1) per contest and eight touchdowns on the ground thus far this season.

Brandon Whitaker, TOR at CGY ($6,000): Even though he's been overshadowed by the prolific performances of his teammates in the passing game, Whitaker has been producing over the last two weeks, posting 16.0 and 13.9 fantasy points in a pair of contests against the Als. Those two games marked the first in which he's seen double-digit carries, and given the Stamps' tough secondary, Whitaker could be in for a solid workload again Saturday. He averaged an impressive 5.0 yards per carry against the Stamps in Week 7, but only received five touches on the ground overall. However, Calgary does give up the fourth-most rushing yards per game (89.1), and Whitaker also maintains a modest but consistent role as an outlet option out of the backfield for quarterback Ricky Ray.

Wide Receiver/Slotback

Chris Williams, BC at OTT ($8,500): While Greg Ellingson ($10,100) is always in play for tournaments, Williams offers a significant discount and draws an intriguing matchup against his former squad. The Redblacks have been a sieve against the pass all season, allowing the second-most passing yards (320.1) per contest and only grabbing four interceptions on the season. They've also allowed 12 receiving touchdowns thus far, while Williams is starting to find his way in the Lions offense after a late start and is coming off tallying a season-high seven receptions in Week 9 against the Stamps.

Darwin Adams, WPG at MTL ($8,000): Adams has scored 20.3 and 22.5 fantasy points, respectively, in the last two weeks and has at least five catches in all but one game this season. That makes him an excellent cash or tournament play against an Als secondary, that, as mentioned earlier, has given up a robust 304.6 yards per contest through the air and just allowed four receiving touchdowns in Week 9 to the Argos. Adams has also been at his best on the road, averaging 18.9 fantasy points in the four contests he's played outside of Investors Group Field.

D'haquille Williams, EDM vs. SSK ($6,600): Williams returned to the prolific Eskimos air attack last week with a bang after sitting for two games with an undisclosed injury, compiling four receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown (24.0 fantasy points). He'd also eclipsed 100 receiving yards in the game before his injury and is priced right for his big-play role in the Edmonton offense. Given quarterback Mike Reilly's performances over the last month-plus, Williams carries considerable upside into a matchup against a Riders squad that's allowed four receiving touchdowns over the last three games.

Armanti Edwards, TOR at CGY ($6,000): Edwards' teammate S.J. Green stole the headlines with a nine-catch, 145-yard, two-touchdown performance in Week 9, and he's worthy of consideration each week. However, the matchup against the Stamps is a tough one this week, making Edwards' $6K price more palatable than the $8,700 that has to be shelled out for Green. Edwards has been a trusted and productive target in his own right, scoring last week as well on his way to 16.8 fantasy points. He's posted at least five catches in three of the last four weeks and has double-digit fantasy points in five of his eight contests overall. Ricky Ray is guaranteed to put the ball up plenty regardless of opponent, and with a lot of attention potentially heading Green's way, Edwards could make for a sneaky tournament play.

Team Defense

Edmonton Eskimos vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders ($5,000): The Eskimos are second only to the Argos in sacks (22.0) and are now fourth in interceptions (seven) as well. They've been particularly stingy at home, allowing just 231.8 yards passing and 79.8 yards on the ground over four contests at Commonwealth Stadium. Additionally, while the Riders have solid offensive numbers overall, the bulk have been generated at home, as they've averaged just 13.6 points in their three road contests this season.
