Stave is much less effective than his numbers would lead one to believe though -- he doesn't make good decisions, he has poor mobility, he has a windup throwing motion with only average velocity, and his accuracy is very unreliable. Aside from toughness and height, it's difficult to see what Stave offers, but he heads into the fall as the slight favorite to start for Wisconsin over Tanner McEvoy.
