Past Fantasy Outlooks
2012
2010
It's too bad for Stewart that Oklahoma State has Joe Randle at running back, because there's little doubt that Stewart would put up huge numbers as a starter. He put up big numbers even as a backup last year, bolting for 646 yards and nine touchdowns on just 91 carries – good for an average of 7.1 yards per carry. If Randle should miss time at some point Stewart would become a must-start in nearly all scenarios, but as long as Randle is on the field Stewart is only a Big 12-only league consideration.
Stewart looks like the probable backup to Stepfan Taylor this year. He averaged 6.29 yards per carry on 17 attempts last year, going for 107 yards and one touchdown. Taylor is too good for Stewart to make it onto the field regularly, but look for him to get 4-to-6 carries per game, making him a very good insurance pick in Pac-10-only leagues.
