Marshall was a frequent visitor to the end zone in 2011, pounding in 18 rushing touchdowns on the season. In 2012, his role should be similar, coming off a season in which he went over 1,000 yards and was the feature back the whole way. Deantre Lewis, who is returning from injury, could take away some of those potential carries from Marshall, but still, last year's guy will most likely be this year's guy as well. Lewis' presence keeps Marshall's ceiling relatively low, but he should be a solid backup in most league types.
Along with Deante Lewis, Marshall makes up what's certaintly one of the nation's elite running back tandems. Despite sharing the field with Lewis, Marshall finished last year with 787 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground (5.3 yards per carry) while adding 227 yards and a touchdown on 21 receptions. If Lewis misses any time with injury, Marshall becomes a must-start in basically all cases.
Marshall is the favorite to be the most productive running back for Arizona State this year. He ran for 280 yards and two touchdowns on 64 carries in 11 games last year, and he chose Arizona State over schools like Oregon and Oregon State, so he's got some talent. He should turn out be a decent RB3 in Pac-10-only leagues.
