2023 Fantasy Outlook
There was no outlook written for Tim Smith in 2023. Check out the latest news below for more on his current fantasy value.
November 3, 2013
Smith didn't record a catch Saturday against Clemson.
ANALYSIS
It's a maddening performance for a player who had 151 yards the week prior. He should scratch against North Carolina in Week 11, but can't be trusted enough for ACC leaguers to use him.

2010
Smith missed plenty of action in 2012 due to a “lower extremity” injury, and that’s after missing most of the 2010 season due to a foot injury. Health is the only thing keeping Smith from finally breaking out, as he’s proven to be a tremendous deep threat. Smith averaged 20.3 yards per catch in 2012 despite never going over 100 yards in any game. He scored four times in the process, and simply needs to stay on the field to be a weekly contributor.
Smith is a player who should be drafted in ACC-only leagues and monitored closely in most other formats. Although his 2011 totals of 565 yards and three touchdowns aren't terribly impressive, he's likely in for a significant promotion in 2012, because Kris Burd graduated from the program after catching 66 passes last year. Smith could be quite valuable if he hits the 60-catch mark, because he averaged over 17 yards per catch in 2011.
Smith will likely be Virginia’s best receiver this season. He was a highly rated recruit and caught 15 balls for 204 yards and two touchdowns during his debut campaign. Smith is surprisingly polished youngster poised for a break-out season if he gets some help from the Cavalier quarterbacks. As it stands, he’s probably not going to have any value outside of ACC-only leagues.
