Head coach Brian Kelly says he feels Golson has so far this spring met "all those expectations" laid out before him in terms of "taking care of his academics and making sure he was a good teammate," the Post-Tribune reports.
Zaire will get a chance to compete with Everett Golson for the Fighting Irish's starting quarterback job in 2014, the South Bend Tribune reports. “I know we’re always in this rush to move to Everett, but I just want to caution everybody that we have, I think, a very good quarterback in Malik Zaire as well,” Fighting Irish head coach Brian Kelly said. “I’m not ready to hand everything over to Everett. I love Everett. He played in the national championship game (after the 2012 season)."
Daniels (academics) will be forced to unenroll for the spring semester but expects to re-enroll during the summer and rejoin the Notre Dame football program in advance of the 2014 season, ESPN.com reports.
