It would seem, however, that Surgent should finally take the next step as a senior this year. Lafayette lost two of its top three receivers from last year to graduation, and their exit leaves a shortage of 104 catches in the offense. Surgent is the team's leading returning receiver, and the Lafayette offense is poised for a big year with Terrance Broadway leading the squad.
