Neck
August 13, 2015
Jorgensen will miss the remainder of the 2015 season after fracturing and dislocating his neck during practice on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Jorgensen was injured Tuesday while playing outside linebacker on the defensive side of the ball - not his traditional position of tight end on offense. A native of Provo, Utah, the 6-7, 228-pound sophomore originally redshirted back in 2011 before going on mission to Canada, but returned back to Brigham Young last season as a member of its scout team. "It's going to be a long road to recover," Jorgensen's brother, Austin, told The Daily Herald following nearly six hours of surgery to stablize Jorgensen's neck. "It was pretty close," he added. "[Colby's] pretty lucky he didn't end up paralyzed."
