ANALYSIS
Saturday was the second time Hunt eclipsed the 100-yard mark in a game this year. It was also the first time he rushed for a touchdown since Oct. 11 against Michigan State. In all, Hunt had a solid season after seizing the starting role for the Boilermakers. He averaged 5.5 yards-per-carry this season and had eight total touchdowns.

With last year's starting running back Akeem Shavers moving on, the door is open for Hunt as the new starter. For the second straight year in a backup role, Hunt averaged more than 8.0 yards per carry. Hunt has been referenced before as one of the fastest players in the Big Ten and will now have the chance to be a lead back in a new offensive system and could have sleeper potential if he produces early in the season.

Hunt Hunt likely won't make a push for the top running back spot on the Purdue depth chart, but he's still in for a significant promotion after consistently showing big-play ability as a freshman last year. He only needed 33 carries to total 287 yards (8.7 YPC) and two touchdowns. Still, with Ralph Bolden and Akeem Shavers around, Hunt is little more than a player to monitor in Big Ten-only leagues as the fall approaches.
