The workload is certainly encouraging, but James' profound lack of production otherwise is hard to stomach. He's averaging just 3.4 yards per carry, which is the sort of figure that can lose your starting job eventually. Working in James' favor is the fact that Fresno State's only other running backs to log carries this year are Treyvon Green and Dejonte O'Neal, both of whom are south of 170 pounds.
