Poteat will walk-on as a running back at the University of Pittsburgh this fall and apply for a medical redshirt in an attempt to gain a second year of eligibility for the Panthers, TribLive.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The 5-10, 210-pound Poteat began his collegiate career at Cincinnati in 2011 before transferring to Stony Brook, where last year he played in just six games due to a high ankle sprain. He will have to sit out the 2014 season as a walk-on in order to be eligible to play in 2015, but hopes are a request for a medical redshirt will allow him to play two full seasons with the Panthers.

2012 Fantasy Outlook
Poteat was a big recruiting catch for Cincinnati last year, a consensus four-star prospect who reportedly chose Cincinnati over USC. He's unlikely to be more than a change-of-pace runner in 2012, though, because George Winn appears to be the starting Cincinnati runner for this year. Poteat is someone to watch due to his recruiting pedigree, but he ran for only 108 yards and a touchdown last year and might not have much of a workload due to the presence of Winn and Jordan Luallen.
