Tyler Matthews

Matthews was a graduate transfer from Southern Miss, who opted to join New Mexico State for his final year of collegiate eligibility. He spent spring and into the fall fighting fellow quarterback Tyler Rogers for a starter's role, but surprisingly called it quits on Monday and will no longer be with the team. A reason for his departure has yet to be given, so it's unclear if he'll attempt to latch on with another program before the season or if he's completely done playing football.
