Suspended following sexual assault charges
Olsen was arrested on multiple sexual assault charges Sunday and has been suspended by UNC Charlotte, the Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
The university released a statement after Olsen's arrest indicating that the allegations "appear to involve sexual assault within an existing relationship," stemming from an incident that occurred off campus. It appears the 49ers will wait and see how the legal process plays out, but if there proves to be any merit to the felony charges, Olsen would likely be dismissed from the program. The quarterback started the 49ers' first five games as a junior last season, but was benched due to poor performance.

The brother of former Miami tight end and current Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen, Kevin is a redshirt freshman quarterback who was a fairly high recruit a year ago, and he's the favorite to start for the Hurricanes since Stephen Morris graduated and Ryan Williams suffered an ACL tear recently.
Miami generally isn't a pass-heavy school and Olsen likely won't be that efficient as a first-time starter, but he will have an extremely talented offense around him. Running back Duke Johnson is one of the nation's absolute best, and the receiver group of Stacy Coley, Herb Waters and Philip Dorsett is excellent, as well.
