Holmes doesn't really have the look of a No. 1 WR at 5-foot-11, 178 pounds, but it looks like he might have some breakout potential this year as the by-default top wideout at Troy. Eric Thomas is gone after catching 66 passes for 993 yards and 12 touchdowns last year, and Holmes seems like the only real bet to step up. Although he was inconsistent as a sophomore last year, Holmes' 40 receptions for 676 yards went for seven touchdowns, which is an encouraging reception-to-touchdown ratio.
