Tenpenny, who announced his transfer to UNLV back in May after having played a limited role at tailback in two seasons at the University of Alabama, would have had to sit out the upcoming season per NCAA regulations. "It's unfortunate, but we've got plenty of guys," head coach Tony Sanchez commented on Tenpenny's release from the team. "The young guys look fantastic. That had nothing to do with [Tenpenny's dismissal). At the end of the day, rules are rules."
