Although he was declared not guilty on the assault charge in his case, Evans accepted a plea deal for a lesser charge that still resulted in a one-year probation sentence. It remains unclear whether Evans' suspension will be lifted at any point this upcoming season, leaving Hayden Moore as the likely candidate to serve as star quarterback Gunner Kiel's backup. If the university does not punish Evans any further, then he could regain eligibility. Regardless, Evans has very limited value given that he's third on the depth chart at best at this point.
