Heuerman has been medically disqualified from playing football for Notre Dame, Michael Bertsch, Sports Information Director for the Irish, tweeted Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Heuerman did not see playing time in either of his first two seasons at Notre Dame, redshirting as a true freshman, then finding himself limited after undergoing a hernia surgery in the summer of 2014. He was also largely considered much of an afterthought coming out of practice this past spring, buried on the depth chart at tight end behind even Chase Hounshell, who moved to the offensive side of the ball after previously lining up at defensive lineman.
