Starting fullback in 2010. His touches will be limited with a backfield filled with the likes of Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson, and Willie Parker.
Starting fullback. Used occasionally in goal line and short yardage situations. Will primarily block for Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts.
Starting fullback. Will be used in some short yardage situations and could vulture a touchdown here and there.
Starting Fullback who gets some red zone looks. He is a team leader in the locker room. He also plays on special teams.
The Redskins led the NFL with 15 touchdown passes thrown to their tight ends in 2005. We know about Chris Cooley, but Sellers hauled in seven TDs himself. Still, it’s hard to predict when he’ll catch those passes, and if he’s not scoring, he’s not doing much of anything else (12 catches, 72 yards, 4.8 YPG).
In 2004 Sellers was used as a blocker on short yardage situations and on special teams. In 2005 he has been asked switch to tight end to improve the blocking on the offensive line. He is not a very good receiver so do not expect many touches.
Sellers has a real shot to be the starting H-back in Joe Gibbs's offense, as a hybrid tight end/fullback that is used occasionally as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. His main competition comes from 2004 draftee Chris Cooley, who was drafted with the express purpose of being the H-back. If Sellers can land the role for the entire season, he's worth an endgame pick late in a deep draft, only if he's considered as a tight end.
